Teasers ... Teasers ...
So many new fibers for NYSW festival this year that I've been working on over the last couple of months ...
I just received a humongous box of targhee combed top back from the mill. I'm going to dye at least part of it, but I may sell some of it white. I had ordered a boatload of fleece from a farmer, and when it all arrived I sort of thought "WHAT the H*LL was I thinking?!?!?! I can't get all this scoured and dyed along with everything else!" So, off to the mill it went to be turned into combed top instead of roving, and it is really beautiful.
Then there are the new rovings for Fall ...
Finn/Dorset/Cheviot X dyed a couple of ways
Cormo blended with all sorts of luxury fibers
Cormo dyed
Gulf Coast, white and dyed
Silver/Gray Teeswater locks
White Wensleydale locks
and more still in the pipeline ...
And new yarns!
One is a definite, and I have a teaser photo to show you. Meet Nona, a 2-ply laceweight, about 640 yards / 123g. This is one heck of an awesome yarn (if I do say so myself). It's a blend of merino, cashmere and bombyx silk. And that's all I'm saying for now ...

The colorway is "Ancient Stones," which is a new one from Spring 2010, and it's actually more green and gray in real life than these photos would lead you to believe. The gray is showing up blue and the green is showing up sort of gray, and nothing I seem to do will make it photograph any differently. So. Photos taken on some ancient stones that just happen to be lolling around in the woods by my house.
Then there is this other yarn I'm considering, which is a worsted weight merino / angora / cashmere. Waiting for samples from the mill to test dye before I decide. But I wouldn't mind having another worsted weight yarn, and this blend sounded pretty awesome to me.
My own knitting and spinning continues. The sweater that I'm knitting in the CVM/Angora yarn is coming along. It would have been finished weeks ago but for the fact that I am knitting it without much of a pattern and frogged and reknit the bottom edge and cuffs 4 times each before I finally got something I liked. And then I didn't like the neckline, so I cut it off, picked up the stitches and reknit it. Only I still don't like it, so I'm ripping, cutting some more out, and reknitting. Wish me luck on that. I'm going to be royally peeved if I wreck this sweater at this point!
I'm still spinning the TdF yarn for that sweater, too ... sort of got backburnered when I started the above sweater. I am nothing if not consistent in my Knitting ADD.
As a further example of my ADD issues, I was browsing through patterns online and came across one that sort of popped to the top of my knitting queu. It's the Counterpane Pullover by Classic Elite:
I think this is just the coolest sweater. I will probably have to do some modifications to the bottom because my hips are

Oh, and did you happen to see Anne Hanson's blog post on August 26? Just a little talk about my yarn, Sunna. Woot! This is one of my favorite yarns, but then I'm just a little biased. So it's really excellent to read when others enjoy one of my yarns, too. Thanks, Anne! :-D
Happy Weekend!
